The replacement for an AEW star – who was also a champion – has been confirmed during tonight’s ROH Death Before Dishonor pay-per-view event.

Former AEW TNT Champion Dustin Rhodes recently underwent double knee replacement surgery, which led to some changes in ROH.

Rhodes was ROH World Tag Team Champion with Sammy Guevara and ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Champion with Marshall & Ross Von Erich when he was ruled out of action and then underwent the surgery.

Tonight’s Death Before Dishonor event played host to matches for both championships.

In the first, it was the six-man titles on the line in a match that saw Guevara fill in for Rhodes in teaming with the Von Erichs.

Guevara and the Von Erichs lost that match, with Shane Taylor and The Infantry becoming the new ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Champions.

However, later in the show, it was time for the ROH World Tag Team Championship match, with Guevara set to team with his own mystery partner to defend against The Outrunners.

Despite Guevara teasing the return of Chris Jericho in an interview earlier, it was La Faccion Ingobernable leader RUSH who came out as his partner.

The match was essentially a heel turn for Guevara, who, with RUSH, scored the win and the duo are now ROH World Tag Team Champions.

After the match, LFI member Dralistico came to the ring to celebrate with RUSH and Guevara in the ring.

However, the Von Erichs then joined them in the ring, with Guevara initially acting like he was going to try to bring the sides together.

It turned out to be a ruse, as Guevara, along with RUSH and Dralistico, attacked the Von Erich’s three-on-two, fully cementing a heel turn for Guevara in the process, and seemingly confirming him as the newest member of LFI.
