IYO SKY’s First WWE Women’s Championship Defence Announced

IYO SKY’s first defence of her newly won WWE Women’s Championship has been announced for tomorrow night’s (August 25) episode of SmackDown.

IYO captured her first Women’s Championship on the main roster back at SummerSlam in Detroit, when she cashed in her Money In The Bank briefcase against Bianca Belair following her victory in the Triple Threat match with Asuka and Charlotte Flair.

The day before the show, IYO was defeated by Zelina Vega on SmackDown.

WWE has now announced IYO’s first title defence will take place against Zelina on tomorrow night’s show.

Per WWE:

As IYO SKY continues to clash with the likes of Charlotte Flair, Bianca Belair and Asuka, the competition for the WWE Women’s Championship has increased with the news that the high-flying titleholder to set to put her gold on the line against The LWO’s Zelina Vega.

After Rey Mysterio’s United States Championship triumph, can Vega draw inspiration from The Legendary Luchador and bring the WWE Women’s Title into the honored Latino faction?

Also set for the show is Vega’s LWO stablemate and new United States Champion Rey Mysterio taking on Grayson Waller, as well as the return of Jimmy Uso, who will speak live.
