Jim Cornette is never one to shy away from inflammatory comments. He also not one who is afraid to share his opinion. However, sometimes he may push it a little too far.
Today, he decided he was going to respond to IMPACT Wrestler Joey Ryan. No surprise there. Jim has made no secrets of his opinion of Joey Ryan.
Ryan made a comment about bully culture in wrestling and posted a video of Vader. Cornette tweeted the following:
Morning thoughts on Dick Boy: 1. A grown man using the term "bully culture" is a pussy. 2. He BETTER be glad wrestling's changed or his ass wouldn't be allowed in it. 3. There is Evolving and DEvolving. 4. @JoeyRyanOnline is an insufferable whiny douche & needs his pussy powdered https://t.co/IfdxXPbY0k

Cornette called Ryan a few names in there actually. Basically, Cornette doesn’t think Ryan would have made it old school wrestling. Joey probably wouldn’t have wanted too, but who knows.
Ryan did respond with a couple of Tweets:

Obviously, having passed, Vader is not in a position to defend himself. However, his son weighed in on the situation.
Kenny Omega didn’t respond to Cornette or Ryan, but he did respond to Vader.
Would have been an incredible honor. Personal dream match, (especially in that setting). https://t.co/tEW5HHzrVp

Cornette is very protective of wrestling’s past and he did manage Vader at one point. However, it’s hard to defend him when he is defending someone allegedly using their position of power to take advantage of another.
Obviously, we don’t know if Vader actually did that or not, but if he did it would be hard to condone. However, many wrestlers have told stories of being stretched or beat up when they first entered the business.
Whatever the case, it’s probably for the best that this is no longer the case. Joey Ryan will be wrestling Tuesday night on IMPACT Wrestling at 8pm EST.
