Kazuchika Okada has reacted to the official announcement of his match with Kenny Omega at AEW All In Texas on Saturday, July 12.
Last night’s AEW Dynamite saw the announcement that has seemingly been teased since Kenny Omega’s return to in-ring action in January – as Tony Khan confirmed that Omega and Kazuchika Okada will face each other one-on-one at All In Texas 2025.
Not only will the pair be squaring off in a singles match for the first time since NJPW Dominion in June 2018, but their match will also be contested for both Omega’s AEW International Championship and Okada’s AEW Continental Championship.
Following the announcement, Kenny Omega took tow Twitter, writing:
Chapter five.
Okada on the other hand simply wrote:
It’s time
As Omega referenced in his tweet, the two men have faced off four times in singles competition previously, with Omega holding two wins, Okada holding one and another being a 60 minute time limit draw.
While they haven’t faced off in singles action since 2018, they did compete on opposing teams in a six man tag team match on AEW Dynamite in April this year.
Okada has held the AEW Continental Championship for over 400 days and is one of only two men to hold the title since its introduction in December 2023.
Omega on the other hand has held the AEW International Championship since March this year, and most recently defended the title in a four-way on last night’s AEW Dynamite – defeating Brody King, Mascara Dorada and Claudio Castagnoli.
