Kit Wilson has shared an update on the status of Pretty Deadly WWE tag team partner Elton Prince after he recently underwent neck fusion surgery.
On the May 2, 2025 episode of SmackDown, Elton Prince suffered an injury during Pretty Deadly’s tag team match with Fraxiom, with the 28-year-old’s status being unclear for the remainder of the year.
On January 9, 2026 however, Prince shared an update to social media, revealing that he had underwent level two neck fusion surgery, something Kit Wilson responded to with a heartfelt message to his tag team partner.
Speaking with Chris Van Vliet on Insight, Wilson shared a positive update on Prince’s well being post surgery:
“He’s doing good. Surgery happened, it was nice that he could talk about the surgery because he’s quite a private person and he wasn’t really putting anything out there, people didn’t really know, some people thought it was this, some people thought it was that, so it was nice for people to get clarity and understand what was going on.
“The surgery went well, so far, it’s been like a week and a half, maybe two weeks, everything is on track and good, but it’s just a touch and go situation because it’s the neck.
“It’s such a speciality area that I think we’re just taking it day by day, but he is doing good, which is fantastic, it’s just a scary thing.”

Wilson then reflected on the exact spot that caused Prince’s injury, confirming that it came when Nathan Frazer hit both members of Pretty Deadly with a Reverse DDT/Flatliner Combo during the May 2 match, with Prince “landing wrong” off the Reverse DDT:
“He took a Reverse DDT and I think I took it as well, it was a Reverse DDT and Flatliner, and it was obviously an accident, things happen, we know what we’re getting into, I just think he landed wrong and he says he felt a certain kind of shock and then he didn’t feel anything.
“It’s crazy because you watch it back and his fingers kind of curl up and it’s really hard to watch knowing what it was. When he’s in the ring trying to figure out was going on he took another thing which cut him open, so he’s bleeding a fair amount and I think initially everyone including myself thought that was a big injury because there was a lot of blood.
“I remember I was on the floor and he makes his way to the corner and I’m kind of looking up at him thinking something’s up. Obviously I didn’t know how serious it was, so I’m starting to shout at him and say things and I can’t remember what he was saying but he was kind of saying, ‘I’m fine, I’m good, I’m good, I’m good.’
“Then I think they maybe make their way to the top rope, I get on the apron, again I’m just assessing, and then I realized, alright I’m getting in. I tag in, I think hesitantly, again I’m slowly walking in trying to figure out what happens and at some point I’m in there I’m screaming, ‘Get down, get down, get down,’ because we were in a position, I think I was going to Electric Chair him (Frazer) and I assume we would have went for out old independent finish which I used to get in an Electric Chair, he used to jump off and do a European Uppercut – the OG Spilt Milk – but then I just realised something was up, so I went, ‘Get down, get down, get down.’
“Then I think I Powerbombed Nathan Frazer at the time, and then he (Prince) was out the rest of the match, I remember doctors were with him and maybe I was in for a minute and half more trying to survive.”

Wilson then discussed the immediate aftermath of the injury and Prince’s road to recovery:
“The next few days were trying to figure out what it was, then we had some phone calls and it was this, it was that, it was tears. And he’s going through it, it’s his thing, it’s his challenge, it’s his battle, but it’s such a hard thing. So horrible to see him go through it because I love him so much.”
