Kofi Kingston Discusses The New Day WWE Future WWE

WWE star Kofi Kingston has discussed the future of his New Day faction with Big E and Xavier Woods.

The trio have been associated with one another since 2014, when the group first formed.

Since then, every member of the stable has went on to win the top singles accolade of their respective careers, with Kofi Kingston and Big E winning the WWE Title, and Xavier Woods winning the 2021 King of the Ring tournament.

The team has also held tag-team gold on all of WWE’s active brands, with Kingston & Woods currently holding the NXT Tag Team Championship.

Speaking with Peter Rosenberg on Cheap Heat, Kingston revealed that he has a couple of years left on his current WWE contract.

When asked if Woods or Big E ever tell him he can’t retire and break up the group, Kingston said:

“I told them this, and they’re starting to come around, once you get past 30, it’s all the same age bracket. Are they younger than me or are we all the same age? They might even be older than me.

“Woods has been working has been working in the industry for a very long time. He’s got like 27 years in the business. He’s the real veteran of the group.

“Am I older than him or not? Who is to say? When it’s all said and done, we definitely want to continue to work with each other on an entertainment platform, whatever that looks like, we’re figuring that out.

“We take it one day at a time. We’ll see what happens when the contract expires and we’ll cross that bridge when it comes.”

Big E is currently on the shelf recovering from a broken neck he suffered in March 2022.
