Three WWE stars have been confirmed for the 2024 King Of The Ring Tournament in a segment on tonight’s WWE Raw.
UPDATE: After this story was written, Drew McIntyre also confirmed he’ll be in the King of the Ring tournament.
On tonight’s episode of WWE Raw, two stars confirmed that they were declaring themselves entrants in the upcoming King of the Ring tournament.
GUNTHER had an in-ring segment as he was flanked by Giovanni Vinci and Ludwig Kaiser as he made his first appearance since losing the Intercontinental Championship at WrestleMania 40.
In the segment he thanked Sami Zayn for freeing him from the title as now he is free to become a hunter again rather than the hunted.
He would go on to officially announce that he was entering in the 2024 King of the Ring.
He would be interrupted however by the New Day (Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston) as Woods revealed that he too was entering the tournament.
Woods won the last iteration of the King of the Ring in 2021, beating Finn Balor in the final.
Xavier Woods noted that he wants to become a two-time King of the Ring tournament winner.
After GUNTHER informed New Day that this discourse was beneath him, he encouraged Imperium to take care of it.
A match would end up ensuing between the New Day and Imperium who were noted as ‘reigniting their rivalry’ despite having just wrapped up the feud about two months ago.
Their last meeting was in a brutal Street Fight match on February 26, 2024.
New Day scored the win and Imperium’s Ludwig Kaiser turned on Giovanni Vinci after the match, much to GUNTHER’s approval.
WWE King and Queen of the Ring is set for May 25, 2024 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
