Lexis King Reveals WWE Star Hooked Him Up With Their Barber WWE

WWE NXT star Lexis King has discussed the origins of his new look in WWE, and which WWE star hooked him up with their barber.

Since Lexis King first arrived in NXT, many fans took immediate notice of his unique looking facial hair.

King has since embraced his ridiculous looking beard, and for those who joked that he hit up the same barber as Carmelo Hayes and Trick Williams, you would actually be spot on.

Speaking on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, Lexis King discussed the origins of his new look, saying that he did hit up Carmelo Hayes to find the best barber in Orlando.

He said:

“Everybody joked, they were like ‘Trick and Melo must have hooked him up with their barber’, but that’s actually what happened. That was like a comment on Twitter but they actually, I moved to Orlando, and I thought ‘well I need to hit somebody up and see who the best barber is’. So I texted Melo, I had him on Twitter, I didn’t have his cell phone number at the time, but I said ‘hey man, where’s the best barber in Orlando?’ and he’s like ‘don’t worry man I’ll hook you up with Charlie’.

“So I hit up Charlie, and I’ve never had this done before, all I asked for was a haircut like I had in AEW or previously, I said ‘line me up, line me up sharp, make me look good’, and he adds all the color, he adds all the brown and the really dark in your beard and really bring it out, but I didn’t know he was gonna do that, this is my first cut with this guy. I get out of the chair, I look in the mirror, and I’m like ‘YEAAAAAH!’ I’m like ‘that’s it!’ I loved it, so people who are s***ting on it, I loved it, I got out of that chair and I was like ‘hell yeah’.”

Lexis continued on, discussing the reaction of the NXT locker room when he debuted with the new beard, and how he leans into the online jokes about his look.

He added:

“This is my first, I was getting my photos done, I didn’t even have a segment or anything, so I got the spray tan and my beard’s all done up, and I go there, and it was just an instant hit with the locker room. Everybody was like ‘you look like the most evil villainous heel in history’. So once it caught on online, because obviously I hadn’t seen the reaction yet, but once I went out there and it just started catching on, so I just lean into it.

“Now I have a routine, and the routine hasn’t changed. Every Tuesday before TV, Charlie does me up real nice. Urban Barber for those of you in the Orlando, Florida, Tampa area, I mean he drives around. He’s got a bus!”
