AEW Rampage Live Results – June 10, 2022 AEW

It’s Friday night and you know what that means. That’s right. WrestleTalk will be providing live coverage of AEW Rampage. Tonight’s show features some NJPW in-ring action as we head to Forbidden Door.

Here’s what is advertised so far:

  • FTR and Trent vs. Will Ospreay and Aussie Open
  • Jake Hager vs. Eddie Kingston
  • Red Velvet vs. Kris Statlander
  • Satnam Singh and Jay Lethal in action
  • We hear from HookHausen

Join us for all the action. It should be another fun hour of professional wrestling.

I think there's been enough talk

It’s time for the main event. United Empire is out first. Aussie Open and Will Ospready with Aaron Hanare are making their entrance. Before the match, Mark Henry interviews the combatants. FTR talks a lot of trash, but Ospreay just looks at them like they are crazy

Ospreay and Harwood start the match off. Ospreay gains some advantage early on. Now, the AEW is really trying to showcase how good of a wrestler Ospreay is. Trent and FTR are a good choice because they can certainly make guys look good.

I haven’t seen a ton of Aussie Open, but what I have has been good. During the commercial break, United Empire continue to work over Trent. Ospreay had Trent in a headlock when we come back from the break. Trent is able to escape and also flips a kid over.

Next, Mark Davis comes in and makes the savvy on Trent who was trying to escape. Davis hits a huge senton. Eventually, Trent gets out. Now, it’s chaos.

Aussie Open hits a cutter and Ospreay hits a 450. That’s still not it. Ospreay finally hits the Os-Cutter for the win. NO!!! Wheeler kicks out. The crowd gives us the this is awesome chant. United Empire focuses on Trent. Ospreay takes out everyone one a dive to the outside. Inside, it is Trent and Fletcher.

In the end, Ospreay takes himself out of the match by hitting a huge crossbody. In the ring, Trent hits Storm Zero. He pins Fletcher for the win.!!!

Trent wins the match for FTR and all is right in AEW. Ospreay is really good. I wish we could get Ospreay vs. Omega.

She's out of this world

Statlander is over big with the crowd. I’m not sure exactly what this change is she’s gone through other than some darker clothes and make-up. Velvet tries to attack before the match. Statlander counters with a big powerslam ont he floor.

When the match goes outside, Velvet tries a choke. However, Statlander is way too strong. Statlander walks her all the way up to the top rope and dumps her off.

Velvet counters with attacks on the knee. Now, it’s the ad break.

When we come back from the break, Statlander is unloading on Velvet. The match goes back and forth. In the end, Statlander gets a big win. She hits her finish and gets the pin.

That was one of the better women’s matches of late. After the match, everyone attacks. This brings down Anna Jay. After the numbers continue to stay an advantage, Athena runs down. Security holds her back. They are trying to save the footage of Athena and Cargill until someone has to pay.

Ethan Page cuts a pretty nice little promo about facing Miro in the first round of the All Atlantic Championship tournameat.

That dude is huge

Satnam Singh and Jay Lethal are making their tag team debut. Singh and Lethal are taking on two guys whose names I didn’t catch. One of the little jobbers gets destroyed by Singh immediately.

Welp, that was quick. Singh gets in. He hits a couple of big strikes. Then he hits a huge crossbody on both opponents.

Jay Lethal comes back in and hits Lethal Injection. They get the win. After the match, Singh and Lethal attack.

After the match, Lexi Nair interviews Danhausen. Danhausen pulls up in a golf cart. Then Hook pulls up in a side by side. He give Lexi a look and drives off.

The fight is on

The first match is underway almost immediately after the show intro. Hager and Kingston are going at it. Hager is in the best shape of his wrestling life. He is taking care of business early. Hager is just beating up Kingston and loving every minute of it.

Hager worked Kingston over for a good portion of the beginning of the match. Kingston fights back as you’d expect. Kingston’s brutal open palm strike to the chest takes Hager down. He doesn’t stay down long. He gains back control within a few moments and drives his knee into the chest of Kingston. I believe Kingston just grabbed Hager’s junk to get out of that one. It was in picture-in-picture. So, it was a bit hard to tell.

Kingston continues to try to punch his way out of it. Hager with a huge Belly to Belly. Near fall. He locks in the Ankle Lock. He had it in for a while, but Kingston uses his fingernails to claw his way to the ropes.

Kingston hits two consecutive Spinning Backfists. He makes the cover and Kingston gets the big win heading into Blood and Guts. That was probably one of my favorite Hager matches in a long time.

Backstage, Britt Baker is backstage. She insults Tony and turns her attention to Toni Storm. She’s upset that Toni Storm even put her hands on the championship. She guarantees the next champ will be from Team DMD not Toni Storm.
