Capping off an extremely impressive WWE rookie year, Logan Paul would compete in a well-received match against Seth ‘Freakin’ Rollins, however he would ultimately come up short.
Regardless of the defeat, Paul has earned a great deal of respect thus far in WWE, showing a clear understanding for the business, something he recently credited to The Miz in assisting him in.
While Paul’s performance once again received plaudits from fans he would understandably be disappointed he didn’t get the win, especially given it was also his 28th birthday.
Despite this Paul would reveal that a text from Triple H would help him see the brighter side, with him now realising how great a moment it was in retrospect.
Speaking with WWE’s Cathy Kelly following the loss, Paul would reveal Triple H told him via a text message that the match was “f**king awesome”, which would turn his mood around.
Paul would reflect on the experience saying:
“I don’t even care if I lost, whatever, whatever,”
“At one point, I thought this was the worst birthday ever. It was a moment in time where I ended my rookie year on an embarrassing loss to Seth Rollins in front of 80,000 people at SoFi Stadium.
I accidentally frog-splashed my business partner and friend KSI through a table, and I currently have no job because my contract ended. So it’s not ideal, but I’m feeling actually pretty good right now.”
Paul alluded to his WWE contract expiring following WrestleMania, something that has now reportedly been resolved with Dave Meltzer noting in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Paul had re-signed with the company.
While Paul’s first year in sports entertainment has wrapped up he has recently revealed his lofty ambitions not only for WWE but also for boxing and the UFC, you can read more about his comments here.
