A major spoiler has emerged on WWE’s plans for the debut of former NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion Nick Aldis.
As previously reported, Aldis is working as a producer in WWE, with the star making a ‘handshake agreement’ with WWE after leaving IMPACT Wrestling in July.
While Aldis recently noted that he hasn’t ruled out a return to the ring in the future, it has been unclear whether or not WWE had plans to use him as an on-screen talent.
PWInsider now reports that Aldis is slated to make his official WWE TV debut on Friday’s (October 13) edition of SmackDown.
Per the report, Aldis will be an onscreen authority figure for the blue brand moving forward.
This would indicate that Aldis has officially signed with WWE, however this has yet to be confirmed.
Back in September, Aldis told Chris Van Vliet that his producer status with WWE was ‘very much a handshake situation‘.
Tonight’s edition of SmackDown will be a notable one, with Roman Reigns set to return to WWE TV.
Triple H will also be appearing – it’s not confirmed whether or not Aldis will be introduced by Triple H tonight or if Triple H’s appearance is for something else.
Also announced is an appearance by John Cena, and the Brawling Brutes vs Pretty Deadly.
We’ll keep you posted with any further updates.
