A huge update has emerged on a top star potentially wrestling for AEW following recent teases and hints.

With the Elite currently down one member for their Blood & Guts squad, Kenny Omega once again teased a reunion with his former Golden Lovers tag partner Kota Ibushi following Wednesday’s edition of Dynamite.

A new report has indicated that we may soon see Kota Ibushi step inside an AEW ring.

Per Fightful Select (subscription required), there have been conversations between AEW and Kota Ibushi recently.

Talent who Fightful spoke with reportedly believe that Ibushi is set to join the company in some capacity, and the belief is that he will specifically appear at the Blood and Guts show he’s rumored for.

A source close to Ibushi has also reportedly stated that he’s planning to work an upcoming AEW show, with. Ibushi’s management also reducing his obligations with media, stating that in the near future, more dates will be added to his schedule.

It was also noted that some who have worked with both AEW and NJPW speculated about the two companies’ relationship following Ibushi’s previous issues with NJPW, and departure earlier this year.

It was pointed out that Ibushi and NJPW previously resolved their issues, with Ibushi previously stating that NJPW made him a new contract offer.

The five on five Blood and Guts cage match will take place on the July 19 edition of Dynamite, with Kenny Omega, Hangman Page and the Young Bucks and a mystery partner to battle Jon Moxley, Wheeler Yuta, Claudio Castagnoli, Konosuke Takeshita and a mystery partner of their own.
