Marko Stunt says that WWE star power is “like a drug” to AEW.
As previously mentioned, Stunt’s contract with All Elite Wrestling expired in May after a few months of not being used and “ghosted” by the company.
Speaking with NBC Sports Boston’s Ten Count show, the former AEW star discussed his feelings on how the promotion has become addicted to WWE star power with the number of stars who have jumped ship.
He said:
“I think that there was a point where they got a taste of what that star power could do, and it’s kind of like a drug I guess, in a way. You get a little bit and you’re like, ‘Ooh, that was fun, that felt good, that was nice. Let’s get a little more in here.’”
When asked about the former WWE performers who have come into All Elite Wrestling since they decided not to renew his contract for budgetary reasons, Stunt answered:
“That’s definitely stuff that runs through your head. Ultimately, I generally try not to get too upset about that type of stuff. Like, I try not to. There’s definitely days where I’m like, ‘What the hell is going on?’
“… I don’t really have any desire to work there right now. That’s not me saying I don’t want to work for them ever but, right now, it’s kind of fresh still.”
Marko Stunt also discussed how Christian Cage mentioning him in a promo on AEW Dynamite was “kind of lame” to him in the same interview.
