Mercedes Martinez Taken To Hospital Following Xia Li Match

On last night’s episode of WWE NXT on the USA Network, Boa and Xia Li teamed up to take on Mercedes Martinez and Jake Atlas in mixed tag team competition.

The match ended rather abruptly after Xia Li hit a strong kick on Mercedes Martinez. Videos circulating on social media during the show saw Martinez seemingly fall directly onto her head from the strike.

While unconfirmed, the way things played out after the kick made it seem as if Mercedes Martinez was legitimately knocked out from the kick.

Mercedes Martinez was not only attended to my WWE doctors, but Sean Ross Sapp noted on Twitter after the show that talent were told that the former RETRIBUTION member was taken to hospital for further testing:

Mercedes Martinez was checked in the back and talent/staff were told she’s headed to the hospital for further evaluation
