NJPW Announces New Partnership With Another Promotion NJPW

MLW has announced a new partnership with NJPW.

In 2023, New Japan Pro Wrestling has entered into an era of collaboration with the top promotion in Japan working with several different companies.

Besides their established partnership with All Elite Wrestling, the past year has seen NJPW work with STARDOM, Pro Wrestling NOAH, AJPW, DDT, Dragon Gate and IMPACT Wrestling for several different shows.

Now, New Japan has announced a brand new partnership with another American wrestling promotion.

On the latest edition of MLW Fusion, Major League Wrestling announced a new partnership with New Japan Pro Wrestling that will kickstart on September 3 with their Fury Road show.

Already announced for the show, NJPW’s own and former IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion KUSHIDA will make his MLW debut when he faces Tony Deppen on the show.

Speaking with Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated, KUSHIDA commented on his upcoming MLW debut. He said:

“I am excited to wrestle in MLW for the first time. I hear there are a lot of great wrestlers there, and I look forward to fighting them. I am ready to take on anyone. I’m ready to fight for the championship,”

KUSHIDA has been making regular appearances for IMPACT Wrestling in 2023 where he is the number one contender for Lio Rush’s X-Division Championship.

The NJPW star will team with IMPACT World Champion Alex Shelley, Chris Sabin and Josh Alexander to face Rush, Moose, Brian Myers and Bully Ray in an eight-man tag team main event at tonight’s IMPACT Emergence event.

WrestleTalk will provide any updates on NJPW and MLW’s new partnership when they become available.
