There were four title matches announced for WWE Elimination Chamber. After the first 3 matches, no titles had changed hands.
That would change after Braun Strowman would face Sami Zayn, Shinsuke Nakamura, and Cesaro. It wasn’t clear how 3 people would hold the Intercontinental Title.

However, it seems after the match that whoever got the pin would be the new IC Champion. Throughout the match, Sami Zayn did his best to avoid Braun Strowman.
Zayn would only tag in when his team had the upper hand. He even hid under the ring.
Strowman was more than holding his own until a costly mistake. Strowman would charge into the corner and miss Cesaro.

While he was draped over the turnbuckle, his head dangled on the outside. Nakamura would then hit a Kinshasa onto Strowman sending his head crashing into the ring post.
Cesaro and Nakamura would lift up Strowman into a double suplex. Sami Zayn hit a Helluva Kick and made the cover.
Sami Zayn is the new Intercontinental Champion. He got the pin over Braun Strowman. The match was clever to get to the win, but with Zayn’s injuries and limited status, it will be interesting to see how they move forward with him as the champion.
