A new number 1 contender was determined in a Fatal 5-Way match on WWE Monday Night Raw. Rey Mysterio picked up the huge win over Robert Roode, AJ Styles, Ricochet, and Shinsuke Nakamura.
Rey Mysterio doesn’t have to wait long to cash in on being the number 1 contender. He gets a Universal Title shot against Seth Rollins next week on the season premiere of WWE Raw.
The match built to a pretty solid ending. Early on, each man got their spots in.
Ricochet was out first after being eliminated by Shinsuke Nakamura. Sami Zayn was excited.

The excitement wouldn’t last for long as Shinsuke was out next. AJ Styles would be eliminated next.
Robert Roode and Rey Mysterio were the final two. Rey Mysterio would pick up the victory after hitting a 619 on Robert Roode.

Earlier in the night, Rey Mysterio said he would dedicate this match to his son. Several people on social media felt like this automatically meant Mysterio was winning.
After the match, Seth Rollins called the match a dream match. However, he’s got to deal with Braun Strowman tonight.
It’s official, we’re getting Rey Mysterio vs. Seth Rollins for the Universal Title on the season premiere of WWE Monday Night Raw.
WWE often likes to do shocking angles on big episodes on of its shows. With it being the season premiere of Raw, could Rey Mysterio be the next Universal Champion?
Or will the Fiend add another legend to his wall of friends?
