‘I Don’t Write Creative’ – Nikki Bella Says She ‘Pitches Hard’ For WWE Heel Turn, Hopes To End Career In That Role

Nikki Bella says she “pitches hard” to turn heel in WWE but doesn’t have any control over how or when it’ll happen.

Throughout her Hall of Fame career Nikki Bella has been most known for performing as a heel, and despite returning to the company as a babyface in early 2025, she did get a chance to to showcase her skills in that role in the Fall of last year when she feuded with Stephanie Vaquer over the Women’s World Championship.

However, this heel run was short-lived as Nikki returned to a babyface role just months later once her twin sister Brie returned to the company at the 2026 WWE Royal Rumble.

With Nikki currently on the shelf after breaking her ankle, she answered a fans’ question about potentially turning to the dark side once again in WWE during a solo Bella Army AMA on her and Brie’s YouTube channel.

Agreeing with the fans who desire to see her return to her natural heel roots, Nikki said she has pitched to make the change and hopes to end her career in that role, but ultimately has no control over WWE’s creative.

Nikki said:

“Look, I’d love to be heel Nikki. I thrive being heel Nikki. I don’t write creative. Heel Nikki is the best. I pitch for it, hopefully that is what I can be. Hopefully that is what I end with.

“I miss the days of Team Bella just doing crazy stuff. During milkshakes on Brie’s head, spray painting Paige, just doing all that kind of stuff, I loved that kind of heel work. Cutting ruthless promos, where my opponent and I knew we could get a little personal and no feelings were hurt.

“We’ll see. I pitch hard for that, we’ll see what will happen because I just thrive in that. I love that. For a babyface to go against me it’s very easy to come after me. There’s so much promo work you can do on me and get a reaction and be a superhero for it. So, I think it works. I think it works the best.”

Paige’s Return To Set Up Bella Twins Heel Turn?

With Paige taking Nikki Bella’s place at WrestleMania 42 and proceeding to win the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships with her sister Brie, there’s an obvious jealousy/resentment storyline that WWE can tell with Nikki when she’s fit to return.

While it wouldn’t really make a ton of sense for Nikki to be jealous considering she hand-picked Paige to take her place, in pro wrestling that logic goes out the window.

Nikki and Brie have never won the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles and having that moment robbed from Nikki is enough to motivate a jealous rage where she attacks Paige, leaving Brie in a sticky situation.

Brie would eventually choose her sister of course, and they could finally achieve what they couldn’t together at WrestleMania 42 and do so in their natural role as heels.

Furthermore, if WWE really want to tap into the Divas era nostalgia, Paige could potentially recruit former frenemy AJ Lee to take on the heel Bella Twins in a tag team match at a major event such as SummerSlam 2026 in Minnesota.
