NWA EmPowerrr Was A Great Showcase Of Women’s Wrestling

NWA EmPowerrr was a great showcase of women’s wrestling. Scratch that, NWA Empowerrr was an amazing showcase of wrestling full stop.

Last night (August 28), NWA held their highly anticipated all-women’s event. Not only did the card showcase some of the best wrestlers in the world, the show featured many memorable moments.

Chelsea Green won the NWA Women’s Invitational Cup Gauntlet, pinning Tootie Lynn last to secure the victory. Green earned the right to challenge Kamille for the NWA World Women’s Championship during tonight’s NWA 73 event.

Earlier in the night, Kamille successfully defended her NWA gold against AEW’s “Legit” Leyla Hirsch.

The NWA World Women’s Tag Team Championship was officially revived at the event, with Allysin Kay and Marti Belle of The Hex defeating Red Velvet and KiLynn King to earn the titles.

Deonna Purrazzo forced Melina to submit to retain her IMPACT Knockouts Title. Purrazzo has now held her IMPACT gold for 289 days.

During the show, former WWE and AEW star Awesome Kong retired from pro-wrestling, telling Gail Kim that if she was going to go out, she wanted to do so with her toughest rival.

The wrestling world has taken to social media to praise the celebration of women’s wrestling. WWE star Sasha Banks noted that she was grateful, tweeting:

“Thank you @MickieJames

Ronda Rousey believes that she received more than her money’s worth, tweeting:

“What a PPV! So worth the money – I honestly would have paid double  Congrats @ImChelseaGreen and all the ladies who put on an amazing show tonight! #EMPOWERRR

I think it’s safe to say that NWA EmPowerrr will be remembered for years to come.
