Mickie James announced that the NWA will hold it’s first ever Women’s Invitational Tournament at today’s (July 13) NWA EmPowerrr press conference, and revealed the first entrant.
At the press conference, Mickie said that the tournament would be held annually on the NWA’s anniversary weekend, with the winner getting a shot at the NWA Women’s Champion. James announced:
“For the first time ever, we are going to hold the NWA Women’s Invitational, where we will find the top women in the industry, the up-and-coming, the rising talent that we see as the future prospects of the women in the industry,”
Mickie also revealed the first competitor for the tournament, St Louis based independent wrestler Tootie Lynn.

NWA will host four straight nights of wrestling from St Louis beginning with NWA Empowerrr on August 28, followed by the NWA 73rd Anniversary show on August 29 and two nights of television tapings on August 30 and 31.
