NWA Hall of Famer and wrestling legend Ole Anderson of the original Four Horsemen has died at the age of 81.
On February 26, various outlets have reported that former Four Horsemen member Ole Anderson has passed away.
The NWA Legends Twitter account took to social media to address Anderson’s passing, writing:
Ole Anderson had few peers in wrestling. He was tough as nails, could handle himself in any situation. Brutally honest, which offended some. Endeared him to others. An incredible mind for the wrestling business. I’m proud to say he was my friend, and I loved him for all the reasons stated above.
Sadly, Ole Anderson left this world earlier today. His legacy will live on forever. Godspeed, my friend.
Meanwhile, Ric Flair took to social media to comment on the passing of his friend and former Four Horsemen stablemate. He wrote:
I Am Forever Thankful To Ole And Gene For Bringing Me In To Crockett Promotions As A Cousin. It Launched My Career. I Will Be Grateful Forever For You Giving Me The Opportunity To Become Who I Am Today. We Didn’t Always Agree With Each Other, But The Honest To God Truth Is You & Gene Started Me. Rest In Peace My Friend
One of Ole’s former rivals and Rock N’ Roll Express teammate Ricky Morton took to Instagram to comment on Anderson’s passing. He wrote:
Rest in Paradise, Ole Anderson.
You taught me so much in professional wrestling. You were tough as nails.
You will be missed, my friend.
WrestleTalk would like to send our deepest condolences to Ole Anderson’s friends and family on his passing.
