This decision will undoubtedly give the match a more TakeOver-like feel, and was certainly an attempt from WWE to siphon viewers away from AEW following last week’s ratings draw.
Just a few hours later, AEW announced that the first match of this week’s Dynamite, a tag team clash between The Lucha Brothers and the team of Hangman Page and Kenny Omega, will also air commerical-free.
Fans were already excited about the prospect of seeing four of AEW’s best compete when the match was announced last week, but the bout has got even more exciting with after it was revealed that they won’t have to deal with commerical breaks.
Kicking off #AEW Dynamite this Wednesday, it’s a dream tag team match as #TheLuchaBrothers face Kenny Omega & Hangman Adam Page, and as always – it will be commercial-free!

NXT and AEW have clearly tried to make the 12/18 as unmissable as possible, so I fully expect viewing numbers for both shows to be up quite significantly this week.
The two promotions are really making the decision of which show to watch on Wednesday a difficult one. As always, WrestleTalk.com will have live coverage of both NXT and AEW this week, so make sure you stick around for that.
