The original finish for last night’s #1 contender match between Orange Cassidy and PAC on AEW Dynamite has been revealed.
As reported by both PWInsider and Fightful Select, the original plan was for the match to go to a 20-minute time-limit draw.
The finish was changed on the fly due to an injury to Orange Cassidy, but the plan was always for a draw and a three-way at Double Or Nothing with Kenny Omega.
When it became clear that Cassidy was hurt, an audible was called for Omega to run out and lay out PAC, and both men stayed down until the referee’s count of 10.
Both sites report that Cassidy was doing okay after the show.
As noted, both Orange Cassidy and PAC will now challenge Kenny Omega for the AEW World Title at Double Or Nothing, which was always the planned outcome.
