The line-up for the participants in the women’s Money in the Bank ladder match at the upcoming pay-per-view of the same name was made official on Raw and SmackDown this past week.
The eight women appearing in the match will be Natalya, Dana Brooke, Alexa Bliss, Naomi, Ember Moon, Mandy Rose, Bayley and Carmella. However, according to the Wrestler Observer Newsletter, that was not the original planned line-up for the match.
The odd woman out in the match based on how she has been used on television both recently and historically is Dana Brooke, who WWE have been giving a little extra promo time to recently and casting her in a role as someone constantly prevented from receiving opportunities. Yes, it is the exact same play that WWE has ran for years with Daniel Bryan, Kofi Kingston, Finn Balor, etc.
It turns out that Brooke was not in the initial line-up for the match and her spot was actually intended for Sasha Banks. However, the ongoing cold war standoff between Banks and WWE necessitated a change so Brooke was brought in to take her place.
