It has emerged that Paul Heyman has a lot of creative input on the segments involving Roman Reigns on SmackDown now. This is no different to the influence he has had when working with Brock Lesnar, Ronda Rousey and Goldberg previously.
After receiving a tip form WrestleTalk’s own Louis Dangoor, Fightful Select asked their sources and found out that the former Raw Executive Director has been pretty influential in Roman’s angles and storylines since his return last month:
Fightful has learned that there is more to Paul Heyman’s role with Roman Reigns on Smackdown. After a tip from WrestleTalk’s Louis Dangoor, Fightful pursued information and had it confirmed that Heyman is heavily influential in the booking of Roman Reigns since his return.
This is considered to be no different than Brock Lesnar, Goldberg, Ronda Rousey before Reigns who Heyman also heavily contributed to the booking of. He was also credited for lending to the reveal, the finish of the pay-per-view at Payback, and the promo from last week’s Smackdown.
This was interesting as when Heyman was fired from his Raw Executive Director position, it was reported that he was only under a performer’s contract. However, it seems like he also now has some creative input over SmackDown’s main event scene.
At Clash of Champions later this month, Roman Reigns is going to be defending his Universal Championship against former SmackDown Tag Team Champion, Jey Uso. The match was booked last week on SmackDown.
