CM Punk is set to return to the ring for the first time in 9 months on tomorrow night’s debut episode of AEW Collision.
The show will take place at the United Center in Chicago, the same arena that Punk made his AEW debut in at the First Dance episode of Rampage in August 2021.
The main event of the show will see Punk team with AEW World Tag Team Champions FTR to take on Bullet Club Gold’s Jay White and Juice Robinson, as well as ROH Television Champion Samoa Joe.
While it was known that Punk would be present on the Collision debut, it was not known that he would be wrestling until recently, and we now know whose idea that was.
Per Fightful Select (subscription required), it was Punk himself who pitched to wrestle on the first episode of Collision.
Punk has never wrestled a match in the United Center, which is something that he was said to want to be able to do.
Punk broke his silence on the AEW All Out media scrum situation in an interview with ESPN that was released today, including what he said to Tony Khan after the scrum.
The potential plan for the Elite on weeks that Punk will feature on Dynamite has been revealed.
