A new report has revealed popular WWE star and self-proclaimed Judgment Day member R-Truth almost retired due to injury.
At WWE Survivor Series 2023, R-Truth made his return to the company for the first time in over a year.
Since then, the former NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion has been a consistent fixture on the WWE Raw brand in his current storyline with The Judgment Day. However, fans might not have ever seen Truth at all if things would have gone differently.
According to Fightful Select (subscription required), things got much worse for R-Truth’s torn quad injury than he originally thought after suffering an infection.
Truth told Fightful that he developed an infection in his knee that turned into “MRSA, staph, their brothers and their sisters and cousins.”
As a result of this, R-Truth had a hole in his knee that wouldn’t allow him to bend it for three months until it got under control.
Truth said after getting past that, he was ready for rehab and that was easy for him. However, he was fearful that he would never wrestle again, but he had to be his own biggest cheerleader and discipline himself to get back in the ring.
A Judgment Day member has admitted to R-Truth growing on him, which you can read at this link.
