During Friday’s ROH taping, Kyle Fletcher and Mark Davis of Aussie Open were in action, against Boulder & Bronson of the Iron Savages.
Per PWInsider, Aussie Open interestingly didn’t enter with their ROH Tag Team Championship belts, and the duo weren’t announced as the ROH Tag Team Champions.
It’s worth noting that the duo reportedly still had the titles featured on their entrance video.
This has fuelled speculation that this match may have been taped with the knowledge that Aussie Open will be dropping their gold soon.
Aussie Open are set to defend the ROH Tag Team Championship on the August 2 edition of Dynamite.
On the 200 episode special, the champions will put their gold on the line against El Hijo del Vikingo and Komander.
Aussie Open won the gold very recently, defeating The Kingdom, Best Friends and former champions The Lucha Brothers in a title ladder match at ROH Death Before Dishonor on July 21.
Of course, it is possible that the titles don’t change hands, but it is interesting that the duo didn’t carry the titles at a taping immediately before a big title defence.
