The real reason behind five WWE stars being released from the company last night (April 19) has been revealed.
Last night saw five WWE stars be released from their contracts, with those names being Jinder Mahal, Veer, Sanga, Xia Li and Xyon Quinn.
The names released are subjected to the usual 90 day non-compete clauses, with them set to sign anywhere they please starting on July 19.
The releases only containing five names led many to believe that the releases were not the typical ‘budget cuts’ reasoning, though that was what was relayed internally.
Per Fightful Select (subscription required), WWE higher ups noted that the cuts came from a combination of not appearing on television due to creative not having anything for the talent, as well as upward trajectory based on progression and how long they had been with the company.
Jinder Mahal has shared a new message following his release from the company, which you can see here.
