UPDATE: It has now emerged that CM Punk reportedly “angrily and aggressively” confronted an AEW star backstage – click here for more.
CM Punk has once again been in the news following this week’s episode of AEW Collision.
Punk cut a promo on Hangman Page after the show, which was not a part of the plan, and since then, reports of various names being sent away from Collision tapings have come to light.
Of the names, Matt Hardy and Hangman Page were told not to go to Collision, though it has not been reported that Punk specifically requested they not be present.
Two names that Punk did request leave were Ryan Nemeth and Christopher Daniels, who serves as the head of talent relations in AEW.
In an update from Haus of Wrestling’s Nick Hausman, the two men not being backstage at episodes of Collision does stem from issues they had with Punk.
Specifically with Daniels, it was said to be his involvement in the AEW All Out media scrum altercation that was specifically portrayed as the reason why he is not at Collision.
With Ace Steel, Punk’s friend, being involved in the altercation but not allowed backstage at the show, Punk is said to feel the same way about Daniels being backstage, not wanting him to be backstage either.
Issues between Punk and Nemeth stem from a tweet Nemeth made following Punk’s return to the company, which you can read about here.
