Ric Flair Admits Ricky Steamboat Return Makes Him Want To Wrestle Again WWE

WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair has admitted that Ricky ‘The Dragon’ Steamboat’s upcoming wrestling return makes him want to step back into the ring one more time.

Ric Flair returned to the ring for his last match on July 31, teaming with Andrade El Idolo to defeat Jeff Jarrett & Jay Lethal.

Before Flair’s opponents were announced, some had speculated that Flair would be facing Steamboat in his retirement match. While Steamboat ultimately didn’t make a comeback for the July event, he will return to the ring for Big Time Wrestling in November.

On his ‘To Be The Man’ podcast, Flair wished Steamboat the best, before admitting that seeing Steamboat prepare for his return makes him want to wrestle again.

Flair said:

“I’m happy for him, I think it’s great. Steve Perkins (Big Time Wrestling promoter) is a great promoter, so I wish them all well, whoever’s involved. I don’t know the situation.

“It’s one of those deals where nobody’s ever going to be Ricky Steamboat, so they might as well watch him while they can and enjoy the opportunity, because there never will be another Ricky Steamboat.

“At every level, he’s better than 50% of the guys in the business today, and he wouldn’t get in the ring if he wasn’t. He holds himself to a very high standard, and I imagine he’ll probably look better than the guys he’s in the ring with because he’s always in good shape.

“Steamboat coming back makes me want to come back again, I went back up to Lincoln and started training again, what else is there to do?”

Fellow WWE Hall of Famer Sean Waltman has provided an update on his wrestling future, teasing a WWE return.
