Ronda Rousey v Sasha Banks Confirmed For WWE Royal Rumble

Last night on Raw it was confirmed that Sasha Banks would challenge Ronda Rousey for the Raw Women’s title at Royal Rumble later this month.

Rousey had been expected to defend the title against Charlotte Flair in a rematch from their Survivor Series clash, which ended in a DQ when Flair assaulted Rousey with a kendo stick.

However, new reports that WWE is considering a three-way between Rousey, Flair and Becky Lynch at WrestleMania have caused plans to change.

During Alexa Bliss’s new talk show segment A Moment Of Bliss, guest Rousey put over Sasha for her dedication to the wrestling business and declared her the best of the best, then offered her a title shot.

Banks had to fight her way past Nia Jax to confirm the shot, defeating the former Raw Women’s champ and Evolution battle royal winner in a long match via tap out.

The Rumble match will be the first ever meeting between the two, so WWE is at least giving fans a fresh match up, even if it is perhaps not the one most wanted or expected.
