Ronda Rousey WrestleMania 39 Match Confirmed

Ronda Rousey WrestleMania 39 Match Confirmed WWE

The questions surrounding Ronda Rousey’s WrestleMania 39 status have been answered on tonight’s March 24 edition of SmackDown.

There was another qualifier tonight for the women’s four-way tag match at Mania, which saw Natalya and Shotzi beat Lacey Evans and Xia Li, so Natalya and Shotzi joined the already qualified Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez in the four-way.

After the match, Ronda Rousey, who’s been out injured for a month, made her return alongside Shayna Baszler and announced they’ve been added to the four-way as well.

Rousey’s WrestleMania plans have changed several times up to this point.

Originally, as in months back, the plan was for her to be in a championship singles match.

However, Rousey herself requested to be moved to the tag division to team with Baszler.

Then, the plan became for Rousey and Baszler to challenge for the Women’s Tag Team Championship against former champions Damage CTRL.

However, with the uncertainty around Rousey’s injury, and the returns of Trish Stratus and Lita, things changed around again.

So the women’s four-way at Mania is now Morgan and Rodriguez, Natalya and Shotzi, Rousey and Baszler, and a fourth team yet to be confirmed.

WrestleVotes, who got the rest of the lineup so far correct, originally reported it would be Chelsea Green and Carmella as the other team, but Carmella missed this past Monday’s Raw and may be replaced by Piper Niven depending on how long Carmella’s out for, which is currently unknown.
