Wesley Blake and Steve Cutler, collectively referred to as the Forgotten Sons were unsuccessful in their attempt to win the vacant NXT Tag Team championships last night in a ladder match at the fantastic NXT Takeover: XXV event.

While most watching at home were talking about the great performances of the Undisputed Era or the Street Profits, a former NXT Champion took to Twitter to share his thoughts on the bout and he gave particular credit to one performer who perhaps doesn’t always get the recognition he deserves.

Scott Dawson, one half of The Revival said after the match that Wesley Blake is “one of the best in this whole company” adding “you don’t understand how good he really is until you’re in the ring with him”.
However, the best compliment has to be when Dawson dubbed him a “modern-day Bobby Eaton”, with Eaton being synonymous with tag team wrestling as one half of The Midnight Express.
Blake is a former NXT Tag Team Champion in his own right, holding the belts for 219 days in 2015 alongside Buddy Murphy, who has also earned a lot of respect from fans with his sensational outings as WWE Cruiserweight Champion last year.
