Yesterday we reported that Seth Rollins had missed house shows over the past week due to an undisclosed injury, and that AJ Styles had also been missing from weekend shows.
It was unknown at the time what the injuries were, but speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer gave information as to the severity of the injuries the two men are suffering.
Seth Rollins is reportedly recovering from a bad back, and although it is unlikely to be WrestleMania threatening, it is thought that the injury is the reason Kurt Angle was inserted into the Drew McIntyre/Baron Corbin feud on last night’s Raw.
AJ Styles apparently has a hernia, and while it is still possible to compete with one, once surgery has taken place there is a reasonable lengthy recovery period, so it’ll be interesting to see when WWE pull the trigger on Styles’ surgery.
You would have thought that they would want him at WrestleMania, so perhaps the sooner the better as he may be able to recover in time for a match, but hernias are potentially serious if left untreated for a long period of time.
They join a seemingly endlessly increasing number of names on WWE’s injury list, all of which can be seen here.
