What Seth Rollins Told The Fans After NXT Went Off The Air WWE

Over a decade since he was a member of the roster, this week’s NXT saw a surreal return to Tuesday nights for WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth ‘Freakin’ Rollins.

While he had his hands full with two-time former NXT Champion Bron Breakker, Rollins defended his title and later thwarted a post-show attack from Money in the Bank opponent Finn Balor thanks to help from Carmelo Hayes and Trick Williams.

Despite that being where the broadcast ended, the fans at the Performance Center were treated to a closing monologue from the inaugural NXT Champion, something that was captured and uploaded to Twitter by WWE afterwards.

Rollins thanked Hayes and Trick for their intervention and discussed how he wished to replicate workhorse champions such as Harley Race and NXT commentator Booker T.

He also addressed his big return to NXT and how it made him feel, admitting that due to the length of time he was away, nostalgia was not quite overcoming him.

That was until he stepped through the curtain, Rollins was then greeted by chants of ‘welcome back’ by the NXT faithful as the champion put over the brand and its fans as the “proving ground” of WWE.

Elsewhere on the show Wes Lee once again defended his North American Championship against Tyler Bate (although there were some issues with special guest referee Mustafa Ali), while Edris Enofe and Malik Blade earned a shot at the NXT Tag Team Champions Gallus on next week’s show.

Also set for next week’s NXT is the NXT Women’s Championship match between Tiffany Stratton and Thea Hail, as well a Heritage Cup match between Nathan Frazer and Dragon Lee, and Carmelo Hayes defending the NXT Championship against Baron Corbin.

Ahead of Frazer’s match with Lee being made official, Rollins gave his protege Frazer a pep talk – to find out more click here.
