Top WWE Star Discusses Comparisons To Roman Reigns WWE

A top WWE star has discussed comparisons to Roman Reigns.

Seth Rollins made his main roster debut as a member of The Shield alongside Dean Ambrose (now Jon Moxley in AEW) and Roman Reigns in November 2012.

The trio quickly climbed the ranks of the company and became three brand new main eventers. Following the end of their alliance, all three men would go on to win the WWE Championship and headlined major shows.

Since the breakup of The Shield, Rollins and Reigns have constantly been compared to one another, especially now that Roman is the reigning Undisputed WWE Universal Champion and Seth recently won the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

Speaking with the New York Post, Rollins was asked whether he believes the fact that they are both champions now has heightened the comparisons to one another. He answered:

“Immediately people are going to compare whatever my title reign is gonna be to what his title reign is gonna be, my stories to his stories, my character to his character, my promo to his promo and it’s inevitable. It’s awesome. Great, I love it. Let’s talk about it.”

“It’s only gonna make things more exciting. It’s only gonna polarize people more. It’s only gonna give people stronger opinions. Let’s go. I love it. Whatever you got to say, you think about, I’m excited to hear it.”

“I’m excited that we are both in great positions in the prime of our careers. Two different titles. Two different approaches.”

At WWE Royal Rumble 2022, Reigns retained the Universal Championship against his former Shield brethren, but Rollins came out victorious via disqualification.

On their return match kind of hanging there and being built without an actual build, Seth replied:

“It’s always there and it’s always gonna be a matchup people are interested in seeing, and the further we get away from it I think the more people will want to see it when you start to touch on it again.”

“I think that it’s just inevitable. We came up together. We grew into WWE together. We built the industry into what it is over the last decade.”

“We are really going to make it in our image over the next decade and hopefully, we’ll leave the place better than we found it.”

“That matchup is always gonna be huge. Whenever we get back to it, I hope it’s at the right place at the right time.”

Seth Rollins is set for a busy week ahead as he will defend the World Heavyweight Championship in an open challenge on the June 19 edition of WWE Raw and then against Bron Breakker on the June 20 “Gold Rush” episode of WWE NXT.

As previously reported, Rollins gave his thoughts on if he believes Bron Breakker is main roster ready ahead of their showdown.

Rollins also discussed the fans singing his theme song, and whether he plans to ‘control’ the crowd reactions in the future.
