Former AEW star Shawn Spears has sent an ominous message to a WWE star following his shock return on NXT.
Spears made an emphatic statement by returning to WWE on this week’s NXT (February 27), attacking Ridge Holland and revealing himself as the man behind the mysterious vignettes that have been running in recent weeks.
This was Spears’ first appearance since departing AEW at the end of 2023, and his first in WWE since February 2019.
Unlike his prior time in WWE however, Spears was not the exuberant ‘Perfect 10’ Tye Dillinger, and instead playing the character he had been building in AEW over the past five years – The Chairman.
Following on from his first comments after NXT, Spears has now taken to social media to send a message to his victim on Tuesday night – Ridge Holland.
Posting on Twitter, Spears said:
Sometimes, the Truth hurts.
But if it comes from me… It always will.

Both Spears’ wife former WWE star Peyton Royce and long-time friend and former AEW adversary Cody Rhodes both commented on the shock return after NXT – with both seemingly happy to see the 43-year-old return to the company.
There has also now been new backstage information released regarding Spears’ return to WWE, including who knew about his arrival beforehand.
