Swerve Strickland Says WWE Doing Good Business Made AEW Raise Its Game AEW

Swerve Strickland says WWE doing good business made AEW raise its game.

On Sunday, August 27, All Elite Wrestling will hold one of the biggest wrestling events in history when they host AEW All In from London’s Wembley Stadium.

With 80,000 fans in attendance, this will be a landmark show for AEW and the industry overall. It also comes at a great time where WWE is thriving with good business numbers across the board.

Speaking with Uproxx Sports, Swerve Strickland commented on the importance of this Sunday’s AEW All In. Explaining that WWE doing good business made AEW raise their game, he said:

“It makes people see that there’s a possibility. It makes people believe again. We know WWE is doing their thing. Their business is higher than it’s ever been and congrats to them. But that made us raise their game.”

“Wembley is going to make them have to make changes. They’re not sitting as comfortable in there anymore. And that’s not a bad thing, that’s a good thing, we want them to.”

“If AEW can make the people who run WWE treat my friends and talent better and get them better opportunities and stuff, that’s a win for pro wrestling and that’s all we need.”

Swerve Strickland will team with his fellow Mogul Embassy member AR Fox to face Sting and Darby Allin in a Coffin Match at AEW All In this Sunday.

Meanwhile, the headline match will see MJF defend the AEW World Championship against Adam Cole. Earlier in the night, Better Than You, Bay Bay will challenge Aussie Open for the ROH World Tag Team Titles on the Zero Hour pre-show.

Also, FTR will defend the AEW World Tag Team Championships against The Young Bucks, Chris Jericho will face Will Ospreay and Kenny Omega will team with Hangman Adam Page and Kota Ibushi to face Konosuke Takeshita and Bullet Club Gold’s Jay White & Juice Robinson.
