The Miz’s 542 days as Intercontinental champion surpass Don Muraco’s 541 days across two reigns between 1981 and 1984. He trails only Pedro Morales, who held the Intercontinental gold for 619 days between 1980 and 1983.
It should be noted, however, that while WWE recognizes Miz’s combined reigns as being 542 days, their title histories tend to be slightly off. Miz actually sits at 541 days as of this writing, which is a moot point, since the belt will certainly not be changing on any house shows this weekend. Thus, the second-place mark is as good as his.
