Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson’s Black Adam movie has just had its second successful weekend at the box office.
Per Variety, the film has topped the weekend box office again, bringing in $27.7 million between October 28 and October 30. This marked a 59% decrease from opening weekend, which was described as ‘standard for a superhero movie’.
Overall, the film has now passed $1oo million in domestic US ticket sales, bringing in $111 million domestically and $250 million globally so far.
Black Adam stars Dwayne Johnson in the films titular role, as an anti-hero who is freed from a 5000 year tomb into the modern world. Johnson also served as a producer, as did his Seven Bucks Productions business partners Dany Garcia and Hiram Garcia.
Prior to the film’s release, Johnson stated that Black Adam would mark the beginning of a new era of the DC Extended Universe. This appears to be true for DC, both on and off-screen, with the recent announcement that James Gunn and Peter Safran will co-lead DC Studios moving forward.
While The Rock hasn’t shed any more light on a potential WWE return, his daughter, Ava Raine, made her WWE TV debut on the October 25 edition of Dynamite, becoming the first ever fourth generation WWE star.
