History Made As First Ever 4th Generation WWE Wrestler Debuts WWE

Dwayne ‘the Rock’ Johnson’s daughter Ava Raine has made her WWE debut, becoming the first ever fourth generation wrestler in WWE history.

Raine made her debut as part of the Schism faction, alongside Joe Gacy and Rip Fowler & Jagger Reid (formerly NXT tag team the Grizzled Young Veterans).

In her first promo on WWE, Ava Raine – real name Simone Johnson – introduced herself to the world, saying:

“The love and acceptance the Schism has given me defies any preconceived notions about who I’m supposed to be. This family completes me. I am Ava Raine.”

WWE announced in February 2020 that Raine had signed with the company and begun training at the WWE Performance Center.

In September of that year, she suffered a setback when she needed to undergo her third knee surgery.

The star debuted on the NXT house show circuit in July, cutting her first wrestling promo. The Rock previously praised his daughter’s WWE progress, noting the following to Entertainment Tonight in July:

“She’s made history, very very proud of her. She is fiercely independent, it’s very important for her to make her own way, blaze her own trail, blaze her own path. She doesn’t come to me looking for a lot, which I respect. I’m here watching and supporting.”
