The Positives
Ronda’s Rousing Debut
We’ll start with arguably the biggest positive of the evening, which was also one of the nicest surprises.
Wasn’t Ronda good?
She brought intensity, brutality and real star power to a match that many worried would be a botch-fest.
Yes, a couple of her moves were a bit clumsy, and Steph isn’t exactly the greatest seller in the world, but for a debut match at WrestleMania, I think this went beyond anything we could have expected.
This match was one of the only ones throughout the entire evening that properly got me excited. When Ronda squared off against Triple Paul H The Game, it gave me proper goosebumps.
The match was very well laid out, with Steph not getting too much offense in – and the satisfaction of seeing Steph tap out in seconds when Ronda finally locked in that armbar was top drawer.
I’m actually really interested to see what’s next for Ronda, and that’s not something I predicted I’d be saying at all.
