Whilst much of the focus for this weekend will likely go on both WWE Night of Champions on May 27 and AEW Double or Nothing on May 28, it’s important to remember that Sunday will also see NXT Battleground take place from the Tsongas Center in Lowell, Massachusetts.
Headlined by the Stand & Deliver rematch between NXT Champion Carmelo Hayes and Bron Breakker, Battleground will also see a brand new NXT Women’s Champion crowned when Tiffany Stratton takes on Lyra Valkyria.
And now off the back of these matches and others the official ticket sales for the event have been revealed courtesy of WrestleTix on Twitter.
According to WrestleTix, as of 8:29am ET on Wednesday, May 24, WWE has thus far sold a total of 2,683 tickets out of an allocation of 3,738, meaning 1,055 are still available with only four days until the event takes place.
It’s important to note that WWE did just open up a new section of the Tsongas Center to fans, however, what is also worth noting is that the overall capacity of the facility is usually between 6,000 and 7,000.
NXT’s roster post-draft has seen quite a significant amount of change with names such as Zoey Stark, Grayson Waller, former NXT Women’s Champion Indi Hartwell and many others all departing to either Raw or SmackDown.
Despite the losses to the roster, the NXT Battleground card holds a lot of promise and will look to follow a solid showing from the brand at WrestleMania weekend’s Stand & Deliver.
The card for NXT Battleground on Sunday, May 28 is as follows:
NXT Championship – Carmelo Hayes (c) vs. Bron Breakker
NXT Women’s Championship – Lyra Valkyria vs. Tiffany Stratton
Heritage Cup Championship – Noam Dar (c) vs. Dragon Lee
NXT Tag Team Championship – Mark Coffey & Wolfgang (c) vs. Brutus & Julius Creed
North American Championship – Wes Lee (c) vs. Joe Gacy vs. Tyler Bate
Last Man Standing – Dijak vs. Ilja Dragunov
