A WWE champion has commented on the upcoming SummerSlam event, believing that their appearance on the show will be their coming-home moment.
With several matches already confirmed for the August 1-2 event, we will soon see WWE announce more bouts to fill the two-night card.
Speaking with KARE 11, Tiffany Stratton noted that she’s hopeful for a big match at the event, so she can wrestle in her home state.
The Women’s US Champion said:
“I feel like this is my coming home moment, like my homecoming. I’ve actually only wrestled one time here in Minnesota. It was on a SmackDown, it felt very quick.
“This is gonna be such a cool opportunity for me. It’s kind of like my first big match back in Minnesota, so I’m super excited.
“I love SummerSlam, I love being outside, I love wrestling outside. I’m super excited for SummerSlam, I think that’s my favorite PLE over WrestleMania, honestly. I can’t wait.”

The match Stratton was referring to took place on the December 6, 2024 SmackDown episode, where Tiffany Stratton defeated Elektra Lopez and Naomi in seven minutes in the first round of the Women’s US Championship tournament, at the Target Center in Minneapolis.
Stratton grew up in Prior Lake, Minnesota, around a 30 minute drive from the US Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, where SummerSlam will be held.
A WWE Women’s US Championship match hasn’t been announced for SummerSlam at the time of writing. While the championship has been left off of PLEs in the past – with Stratton notably winning the gold on the SmackDown following WrestleMania 42 – Stratton did recently defend the title against Jade Cargill at Night of Champions on June 27.
It would make a lot of sense to feature Stratton on the main SummerSlam card in her home state, especially as she is currently a reigning champion and is helping to promote the show in media interviews like the aforementioned one.
