Killer Kross To Defend World Championship In WWE Star’s Promotion

Killer Kross has confirmed that he will defend a world title in WWE star Ethan Page’s promotion, Alpha-1 Wrestling.

The former “Karrion Kross” has confirmed that the MLW World Heavyweight Championship will be on the line when he faces Jimmy Townsend at Alpha-1 Wrestling’s The Purge event on July 26.

Kross shared a video where he explained how this championship match came to be. Recalling initial conversations with Ethan Page, Kross said:

“So, a few months ago, I’m on a Zoom call with All Ego Ethan Page when I’m in New Zealand. We had a conversation about me competing at Alpha-1 Wrestling in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. He asked me if I would be interested, I said ‘Of course I would.’

“He asked me, ‘Hey, what do you think about Jimmy Townsend, The Convict?’ I said ‘He’s pretty good. He’s actually very good.’ He goes, ‘Alright, we’ll make the match, no problem.’

“Jimmy, being a young man with a chip on his shoulder – which is good – calls me out for an MLW World Heavyweight Championship match. It’s insane, but I can appreciate it. I got it cleared, so it’s going to go down.

Kross then sent a warning to Jimmy Townsend, continuing:

“Jimmy, you are going to get your title match. You’ve got everything to win and I’ve got everything to lose, but I think in all fairness, I should explain to you where’ I’m at in my life, because maybe you have some sort of misconception about me.

“You’re a young guy, I don’t know if you followed my career before WWE, if you know what I’m actually really like. So right now I have four world titles, titles from all over the planet, this MLW being one of them.

“I just want to let you know, it’s a lot of guys that come out of big companies that are looking to phone s**t in, collect money, the check, get their ovation, do the bare minimum and split. That’s not me, pal. It’s not me.

“I think about the next ten years of my career, looking back, I want quality work. I want fights that push me. I hope you’ve got a really good game plan, July 26, because when I come to Hamilton, I’m going to beat the f**king brakes off you.

“I don’t care how old you are, I don’t care where you’re from, I don’t care how good you are. You’re going to be fighting for your life, and I’m going to tell you straight up, I’m going to cut the ring off, I’m going to put you in the corner, I’m going to try to break all your f**king ribs, and when you gasp for air, and you’re looking for a way out, I’m not going to give you one. I’m going to dive bomb you right on your f**king head right in front of everybody.

Revealing Ethan Page’s request ahead of the match, Kross concluded:

So, Ethan said ‘Don’t do anything too crazy,’ because he might lose the building, but honestly, whatever happens, happens. Good luck kid.

Ethan Page founded Alpha-1 Wrestling in 2010. While he very occasionally appears for his independent promotion, he hasn’t wrestled for the Alpha-1 since August 2020.

Shortly following Page’s WWE main roster call-up, reports stated that names within the company described him as “extremely respectful and detail-oriented behind the scenes.” 

Running Alpha-1 Wrestling alongside his own wrestling career is bound to be a reason for his attention to detail, with Page understanding there’s a lot more to wrestling than what’s happening between the ropes.
