Former WWE Star Reacts To Tag Team Partner Baron Corbin SmackDown Return

Donovan Dijak has reacted to his former MLW World Tag Team Championship partner Baron Corbin returning to WWE.

Following recent rumors and speculation, Baron Corbin made his WWE return on the July 10 edition of SmackDown.

During the show, Corbin interrupted US Champion Trick Williams’ match against Carmelo Hayes, with the returning star taking out both competitors and looking at the US Championship belt.

Donovan Dijak has now taken to Twitter to celebrate his former Skyscrapers tag-team partner’s return to WWE.

Sharing WWE’s video of Baron Corbin’s comeback, Dijak wrote:

Dijak and Corbin/Bishop Dyer previously teamed together in MLW as the Skyscrapers. They won the MLW Tag Team Championship together at Summer of the Beasts in June 2025.

Corbin was recently stripped of this championship due to in-storyline contract disputes, which had fuelled speculation about a potential return, which has now happened.

A trademark filing did hint towards Corbin’s return ahead of SmackDown, with WWE filing an application to trademark the star’s nickname “The Nomad”.

Baron Corbin last wrestled for WWE in 2024, defeating Giovanni Vinci (Fabian Aichner) in a non-televised dark match following the October 18, 2024 SmackDown episode.

His last televised match saw him and Apollo Crews lose to Angel and Berto on the August 30, 2024 episode.

With Corbin officially listed as a SmackDown star on WWE’s roster page, it will be interesting to see how the company chooses to utilize him, after bringing the former US Champion back.

Corbin was firmly established as a mainstay of the midcard division during his final run with the company. Corbin returning in the US Title picture makes it seem like he will simply take up this role again, however his dominant showing could indicate that we could see him rise higher on the card over time.
