‘Thank You For Everything’ – WWE Star Sends Message To Sheamus Following His Departure From The Company

A WWE star has shared a thank-you message for Sheamus, following the Irish star officially departing the company.

Following reports that Sheamus would be leaving WWE once his contract expired, WWE moved the former world champion’s profile to the Alumni section of the roster page on July 6.

With the wrestling world recently reacting to Sheamus’ exit, JD McDonagh has now taken to Instagram to share a message for the departing star.

McDonagh shared a photo of him and Sheamus both wearing Liverpool FC gear, and holding Guinness.

The Raw star captioned the photo:

“Until the next one, Sheamo. Thanks for everything”

Sheamus and JD McDonagh have shared the ring on several occasions, with their only one-on-one meeting seeing McDonagh victorious on the October 27, 2025 Raw episode.

McDonagh was actually part of Sheamus’ final match in WWE, with the Judgment Day member teaming with Finn Balor and Dominik Mysterio in a losing effort against Sheamus, Rey Mysterio and John Cena on the November 17, 2025 Raw show.

This bout also was also John Cena’s final Raw match, ahead of his retirement.

Sheamus has been out of action recovering from an injury since November. While he appeared to tease preparing for a return in early June – sharing photos from the Performance Center – He suffered a graphic head wound six days later.

The former WWE Champion had returned to training at a boxing/MMA gym prior to his WWE exit.

Sheamus recently shared his own farewell message, taking to Twitter for the first time since news of his departure broke to write “slán mo WWE chairde”, which translates to “goodbye my WWE friends”.
