At WWE Clash In Italy 2026, Rhea Ripley defeated Jade Cargill to retain the WWE Women’s Championship.

During the course of the bout, Ripley suffered a meniscus tear that has kept her sidelined for the past several weeks.

Considering that she is currently hurt, it would make sense if WWE is gearing up for a new champion to be crowned in the weeks to come.

Here are eight potential WWE Women’s Champions after Rhea Ripley

8. Jade Cargill

At the WWE WrestleMania 42 Night Two, Rhea Ripley defeated Jade Cargill to win the WWE Women’s Championship.

Since then, Cargill has been the main threat to Ripley’s reign and challenged her again at WWE Clash In Italy 2026.

After failing to beat Rhea twice, Jade may find herself back into contention if the champion is forced to relinquish her title.

Cargill winning the vacant WWE Women’s Championship would be a great way to write a new chapter in the story with Ripley where Jade doesn’t beat her to get back the gold.

7. Tiffany Stratton

Tiffany Stratton reigned as WWE Women’s Champion for almost the entirety of 2025, defeating major names like Charlotte Flair and Trish Stratus along the way.

In 2025, Tiffany Stratton faced off and feuded with Jade Cargill with their first matchup taking place at SummerSlam.

It was Cargill who dethroned Stratton to win the WWE Women’s Championship, but she was unable to do the same with the Women’s United States Title.

While she currently holds the Women’s US gold, Stratton proved with her first run that she can stand atop of the SmackDown women’s scene.

Stratton resuming her spot at the top of the SmackDown women’s division would help her regain the momentum she has lost in recent months.

6. Chelsea Green

Over the past few months, Chelsea Green has been trying to become best friends with Tiffany Stratton.

This has led to the fans greeting Green with unanimous cheers and becoming a beloved star in the WWE women’s division.

The two-time WWE Women’s United States Champion is someone who many fans have wanted to see rise the ranks and become a contender for a world title.

Green moving up into the main event picture would be a full circle moment and become a crowning achievement that sees her finally win the WWE Women’s Championship after Rhea Ripley.

5. Giulia

In recent weeks, Giulia has decided to stand on her own after splitting from Kiana James.

“The Beautiful Madness” has gotten some success in her first year on the WWE main roster as a former two-time WWE Women’s United States Champion.

After dominating the Women’s US Title scene, it feels like the right time for Giulia to mix it up with the top stars in the SmackDown women’s division.

Giulia becoming the WWE Women’s Champion would be fitting and help to fulfill her potential that many fans saw for her prior to signing with the company.

4. Blake Monroe

Over the past few months, Blake Monroe had been teasing her arrival on the WWE main roster in a series of vignettes.

In one of these videos, Monroe called out Rhea Ripley and seemingly set her sights on the WWE Women’s Championship.

Now that she’s on TV and in the mix on SmackDown, the former Mariah May has everything it takes to be a top star in the WWE women’s scene.

Whether it be winning the vacant title or dethroning Rhea Ripley outright, Monroe could totally alter the landscape of the women’s division in a massive way by winning the WWE Women’s Championship sooner rather than later.

3. Alexa Bliss

Over the past two years, Alexa Bliss has reestablished herself as one of the most popular stars in the WWE women’s division.

While she has mostly been focused on tag team competition with Charlotte Flair, Bliss seems more than ready to be a singles star again.

With all of her credentials and accolades, Bliss feels like a strong contender who could give Rhea Ripley a run for her money with the WWE Women’s Championship on the line.

While she may be set for a spell on the sidelines following Jade Cargill’s attack on SmackDown, Bliss eventually challenging and defeating Ripley to win the WWE Women’s Championship would be a welcome surprise, given she’s not won a world title in eight years.

2. Charlotte Flair

Speaking of Alexa Bliss, her best friend and tag team partner Charlotte Flair looks prepared for another stint in the main event scene.

“The Queen” has been more focused on her singles aspirations and rivalries in recent weeks.

Following WWE Clash In Italy 2026, Flair came out to confront Rhea Ripley and made it clear that she had her eyes on the WWE Women’s Championship.

In what would be a huge showdown, Charlotte dethroning Rhea would be some sweet revenge after Ripley overcame Flair back at WrestleMania 39.

1. Jacy Jayne

On the April 24 WWE SmackDown After WrestleMania 42, Fatal Influence made their main roster debut and made it clear that they wanted to take over the women’s division.

On day one, Jacy Jayne stepped up to the plate to face Rhea Ripley, taking the WWE Women’s Champion to the limit before the rest of Fatal Influence interfered.

Over the past year, Jayne became one of the most decorated female stars in NXT history with two reigns as the NXT Women’s Champion and being a former TNA Knockouts World Champion.

Jayne stepping up a level and taking the top prize on SmackDown would be a major statement, and establish her as a major star for years to come.
