Blake Monroe made her live WWE SmackDown debut appearance at today’s taping in London, England.

This week’s June 26 edition of SmackDown was taped today (June 23) at the O2 Arena.

Among the news coming out of the taping is that Blake Monroe appeared live on WWE SmackDown for the first time.

After the advertised match between Giulia and Kiana James took place after they recently split up, Monroe appeared and attacked Giulia, laying her out with a Neutralizer which seems to be her new finisher.

For the past several weeks, there have been videos airing on SmackDown promoting that Monroe would be “coming soon” to the brand.

She did also appear very briefly in a backstage segment with Chelsea Green one week, but then was absent again after that, only appearing in video form.

In the most recent video last week, Monroe did tease that she would be targeting Giulia, with the two having a history from their time working in STARDOM in Japan.

Blake Monroe’s Future In WWE

Blake Monroe previously held the AEW Women’s World Championship as Mariah May and was in the top women’s storyline in the promotion alongside Toni Storm.

However, in NXT, despite holding the Women’s North American Title, she wasn’t really featured in the main event picture.

She did end things in NXT on a high with a notable feud with Tatum Paxley, but her run as a whole came under plenty of scrutiny in comparison to her AEW run.

This may have just been because she was always planned for a relatively quick move to the WWE main roster so the NXT creative didn’t really want to build around her, but either way, the run didn’t set the world alight.

Monroe definitely has all the tools to turn things around on the main roster, but it’s a question of whether the booking will get behind her, especially with how competitive the women’s division is at the moment.
